Continuing last year's successful extensions of PROFES 2002 with tutorials and workshops, we offer you the opportunity to organize tutorials, workshops or panels related to Software Quality, Development, and Processes. PROFES is an international conference: The official conference language is English. However, we also invite tutorials and workshops that will be held in Japanese. For more information on Japanese tutorials and workshops, please click here.
We seek proposal for 1 to 2-hour panels for discussion forums that emphasize interesting actual issues and stimulate discussion. Proposed topics may vary from practical, technological issues to social issues in the domain of Software Process Improvement. A panel proposal should include a title, an outline, and a list of possible panel members. Panels will take place during the conference as part of the technical program.
We also welcome proposals for full-day (6 hours) or half-day (3 hours) workshops on interesting topics from on-going research or industrial projects. A workshop may address timely issues or initiate a longer term effort on a topic of interest. It should consist of presentations and open discussions. Workshop proposals should include a title, an outline, goals of the workshop, and the organizers' experience. Workshops will be scheduled on the two days before the conference main program.
Finally, we invite submitters to propose full-day (6 hours) or half-day (3 hours) tutorials on any Software Process Improvement related topic from academic research to industrial applications. The purpose of tutorials is to provide participants with the possibility to learn and obtain new ideas about the topic in question. A tutorial proposal should include a title, an outline, the presenters' experience, the level (introductory, advanced), and the intended audience. Tutorials will be scheduled on the two days before the conference main program.
Proposers of workshops and panels are expected to participate in the organization (e.g. call for contributions, review of contributions, invitation of speakers/panelists), and to moderate the workshops/panels. Abstracts (half page) will be included in the conference proceedings.
All proposals should include the tutorial/workshop/panel description (see above), the presenters' address & short CV, and an indication of time required. Please send proposals by E-Mail to Profes2004@is.aist-nara.ac.jp.
